Aim:
Students will learn fruits.
Objective:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify 6 fruits. (Apple,
banana, pear, orange, grapes, watermelon.)
PRESENTATION:
Teacher
comes to the class and greets students and he/she revises the previous weeks by
asking students ‘what is your name?’ ‘How are you?’ etc..
After the
revision, he/she shows basket of fruits to students and says ‘I have some
fruits for you’ and she starts to show each fruit one by one and asks ‘What is
this?’. Students answer in Turkish and teacher says that this is an apple, an
orange… At the second repetition she relates the fruits with their colors and
asks students ‘what color is this apple?’. Students answer yellow, orange,
red.. Finally, he/she asks students the fruits with their colors and wants them
to repeat after him/her.

CHECK ACTIVITY
Teacher
says ‘Where is your pencils?’, ‘Take your pencils’ by showing a pencil. After
students take their pencils, teacher says that I will give you these
worksheets, I will say a fruit name, you will listen to me carefully and circle
it. After students finish the worksheet, they check the answers together.
ACTIVITY 1:
ART-CRAFT
Teacher
says ‘Now, listen to me and watch me carefully’ and she shows some pictures.
She says ‘I will give you these pictures, you will color and cut them’ by
demonstrating the actions. Then, she distributes the papers and helps them to
color and cut. At the same time, she asks each student ‘What is this, what
color is this?’. When they finish, each student’s name is written back of their
fruits. Then, teacher asks ‘Who has a watermelon/orange etc.? ‘And she takes
the watermelons from the students who have watermelon. She pins the watermelons
on the cardboard which has shadows of the each fruits. She does it until all
the fruits are completed.
ACTIVITY 2:
GAME
Teacher
says ‘Game timeeee, let’s play a game!’ She wants them to listen to her and
watch her. He/she shows some flashcards of fruits, a smiling face, a sad face
and says’ For example, I show you a banana and I say grapes. Is that right?’
Students say’ Nooo!’ Teacher says ’It is false, you go to sad face. I show you
an apple and I say it is an apple. Is that right?’ Students say’ Yees!’ Yes,
you go to smiley face. Is that okay?’ At the same time she demonstrates the
game by her actions. She calls students one by one and they play the game. The
game continues until all students finish.
CONTINGENCY
PLAN:
Teacher
shows flashcards of fruits and put them on the table. Then she asks each
student one by one ‘Where is banana/orange etc.?’ and wants them to take the
flashcards of the fruit.
