Time: 40 minutes
Level of proficiency: Intermediate
Lesson title: a little, a few, many, much
Equipment needed: board marker, worksheets, cardboards, colorful papers, sticker, pictures, envelops, and flash cards.

OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the lesson students will be able to;
-Identify quantifiers (a little, a few, much, and many),
 -write sentences using quantifiers,
-recall and recognize quantifiers.

STAGES OF LESSON:

Warm-up: Teacher greets the class and asks questions like “Are you hungry?”, “What do you eat in the breakfast?”, “Do you know what British people are eating in the breakfast?” and teacher says “Do you wonder other culture’s breakfasts?, let’s learn them. Teacher hangs the pictures, which are other cultures’ breakfast like American breakfast or Turkish breakfast, on the board one by one and writes sentences according to the pictures. Then, teacher teaches the structure (a few, a little, many, and much) from the sentences. After that, teacher hangs the scrambled sentences on the board, and then says “put the sentences into the correct order.” Students come to the board one by one and put the sentences into the correct order.
Activity 1: Teacher hands out reading passage worksheets and students read the passage. They answer the true/false questions. Teacher hangs the true/false sentences on the board and then, students put the true/false cards on the board according to the passage.
Activity 2: Teacher hands out envelops in which there are ingredients, meals and quantifiers. Teacher says “you will write ingredients of breakfast meals using quantifiers like a few eggs, a little cheese or many potatoes.” Students work as a pair and write ingredients of breakfast meals. After that, they say meals’ ingredients that they write.
Activity 3: Teacher divides the class into groups and teacher hangs out colorful papers and cards in which there are pictures in bold. Students work as a group and find the hiding picture. They stick the picture on the colorful papers and write sentences using much, many, a few and a little, and then they prepare a poster by coloring, and drawing. Then, they present their posters to the class.
