Lesson Plan for Story Telling



AGE GROUP: 6th Grade.
LEVEL OF PROFICIENCY: Beginner.
DURATION: 40 minute.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Pictures, Scissors, Stick, Worksheets.

Objectives;
At the end of the lesson,
1-) students will be able to recognize some new words; Princess, King, Queen, Monster, Dragon, Tower, Kidnap, Fiery Breath.
2-) The students will be familiar with the story of “The Princess and The Dragon.”
3-) Students will be able to recall the structures of simple past tense.
Aim: To make young learners familiar with the basic structure of simple past tense and teach them some new vocabulary. 

LESSON PROCEDURE

WARM UP
The teacher asks a few questions to the students about stories and he starts talking about story he read last time. He talks about a few of the characters in the story and goes to the vocabulary teaching.

PRE-ACTIVITY

VOCABULARY TEACHING
Teacher shows some pictures and write the names of the pictures. Then, Teacher wants students to repeat the words after him. After repetition part, Teacher gives students worksheets about the vocabularies that they learn.

ARTCRAFT
Teacher gives the students papers with pictures on them. Teacher wants students to color and cut the picture and then he wants them to use them to make puppets. The puppets will be used later.

WHILE-ACTIVITY

First Telling: Before the teacher begins to story, he distributes a worksheet and he wants students to put them in order. Then, the teacher begins to tell the story. After the teacher completes the story, the teacher wants students to say their order and then the teacher wants volunteers to come the board and write the correct order.

Second Telling: The teacher wants students to raise their puppets and he gives them the story. He wants them to repeat the lines of their characters when teacher tells the story for a second time.

POST-ACTIVITY
1-) Teacher gives the worksheet to the students and wants them to write true or false to the questions. Then, the students answer the questions and write the correct answer to the board.

2-) Teacher gives students to worksheets and wants them circle the correct option. Then, the students answer the questions and write the correct answer to the board.

CONTINGENCY PLAN
The teacher gives a worksheet to students and wants them choose the pictures related to the story.
