Greeting

DATE: 
GRADE: Kindergarten
AGE GROUP: 3
SIZE OF CLASS: 14
TIME: 30 minutes
TITLE OF THE LESSON:  Greeting
EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Colorful pencils, scissors, worksheets, threads, hole puncher.
AIM OF THE LESSON: 
1.Students will learn to say their namesin English.
2.  We aim to integrate students in the games, songs.
OBJECTIVE:
1-      At the end of the lesson, students will be able to tell their names in English.

STAGES OF THE LESSON
WARM UP
Teacher  greets the class ‘Hello’ and says ‘ My name is Büşra, İlknur’.  Teacher asks to the other ‘What is your name?’ the other teacher answers. Teacher asks and students tell their names one by one.
                                                                          
ART-CRAFT ACTIVITY
Teacher gives students butterflies to color. They first cut and color the butterfly. After that, they hang it around their neck with a thread. Teacher cuts a hole in the picture and helps students hang the picture.













SONG
They listen to a song named ‘ Hello, what is your name?’ . First, they only listen to the song and then they sing together;
Hello, hello
What’s your name?(3)
After that, they all together sing the song, when the question part comes, teacher asks ‘what is your name?’ to each student each time, they answer. First, teachers ask each other, later students answer.

GAME
Students make a circle holding hands and they sing the song. Teacher shows each student to turn back, every student turn back saying their names.
My name is Büşra. (and student turns back)
CONTINGENCY PLAN
They make a circle sitting on the floor. Teacher chooses one students each time, he/she turns around the circle singing the song all together, he has a napkin and leaves the napkin behind one of his/her friends. The person has the napkin tells his/ her name.
