Materials: Video, worksheet, color cards, colored pencils, color wheel, clothes
pin, paper bag.
Aim: To teach colors.
Warm Up
Teacher comes to the class and says 'Hello! How are
you today?' Students give answers. Then teacher reviews of the previous lesson
and asks some questions about numbers. The students reply and then, teacher
announces today's topic.
Vocabulary Teaching
Vocabularies: Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink
Teacher first shows the color wheel pointing out the
colors and asks 'What are these?' The students respond. Teacher says ' Colors!
Let's learn the colors!' Teacher hangs the wheel and spins it. She says the
color's name that is the top of the wheel and wants the students to repeat.
Teacher asks 'What color is it? Students say 'It is ....' It continues until
all the colors are done.
Teaching vocabulary
activity:
After teaching the colors, teacher shows a paper bag
and there are some clothes pins in it and on the clothes pins there are some
colorful pictures representing the target colors.
Teacher wants to measure if the students have
perceived the colors or not.
Teacher gives the
instruction:
One of you will come here, take one and attach it to
the right color.
(At the same time, teacher shows how to do.)
The students come to the stage one by one and take
one. Teacher asks' What color is it?'
The students answers ' It is ...' and she/ he attaches to the right color on
the wheel.
Art Craft Activity:
Objective:
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to
choose the right color that had been numbered on the worksheet. This activity
depends on the previous lesson 'Numbers.'
Teacher gives instruction:
We have an art-craft activity. I'll give you these
papers. Number 1 is red. Color the 1 red. Number 2 is orange, color 2 orange.
Teacher walks around the class and asks ' What color
is it?' The students answer.
Activity 2: Song
Objective: At
the end of the lesson ,students will be able to recall the colors with the song.
Teacher starts the music and they make a circle by
holding each other's hands they sing the song with the teacher.
Teacher gives instruction:
Song time! Let's make a circle, hold our hands and
sing our song!
Song Script:
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink (twice)
It's a rainbow, it's a rainbow
A beautiful rainbow in the sky.
Red

Pink
Game: (catching colors)
Objective: At
the end of the lesson students will be able to select the right color that they have heard.
Teacher sticks some color cards on the walls, on the
desks, on the bookcase. She wants everybody to stand up. When she says a color
name, The students try to find that color and touch it.
Teacher gives instruction:
I'll say a color name. Find and touch it.
Contingency plan:
Objective: At the end of the lesson students will be able to retell the name of the colors.
Teacher uses the color wheel to play the game. She
hangs it on the wall where the students could reach easily. She makes them
pair. She wants one of the pairs to spin the wheel and wants the other one to
ask the question 'What color is it?' His/ her pair answer 'It is...' It goes on
until all pairs do that.
