Turkish Cuisine

LESSON PLAN

Grade : 9th Grade 
Age: 15
Size of Class: 60 Time: 20 minute
Topic: Turkish Cuisine 
Materials: pictures, handouts,poster

Objectives:
⦁ By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to;
⦁ recognize the name of five Turkish foods.
⦁ improve writing skills through dictation activities.
Pre-Activity:
⦁ Vocabulary Study Activity (5 minutes)
⦁ The teacher shows pictures to the students and she asks to the students “Do you know name of the food?
⦁ After students answer the questions, teacher says true words and wants to the students repeat after her.
While Activity:
⦁ Peer Dictation (10 minutes)
⦁ Teacher wants to the students work in pairs. One of them is A, one of them is B.
⦁ Teacher gives a passage for A.
⦁ Teacher wants to the A students read a passage and B students write the passage. Which pairs finish their work first, they say “Stop!” Then teacher wants to B student read the passage. If s/he has an error, she corrects him/her.
⦁ Then, teacher sticks the board correct passage and all students check their words again.
Post activity:
⦁ Sentence Dictation (5 minutes)
⦁ Teacher says sentences and students write them.
⦁ After each of sentences, one of the students comes to the board and writes the sentences on the board.
⦁ Teacher and students check their answers together.
